ONE

A one-year-old child
is so many things,
a tiny discoverer of butterfly wings,
a hugger of teddies,
a sweet sleepyhead,
and someone to dream for
in bright years ahead…
A special new person
who, right from the start,
has a place in the family
and, of course, in your heart.
And, just when you think
that you’ve learned all the things
that your dear child is
and the joy that she brings,
a hug or a grin
comes with such sweet surprise
that love finds you smiling
with tears in your eyes!

Molly Shea, this week you turned one! It has been so incredible to watch you grow and blossom throughout this first year.  And, we are so excited to see what the next year brings.

You’ve become such an amazing little person.  You bring smiles to the faces of all those around you.  And, that big toothy grin makes me laugh every time.  You’re adventurous and a dare-devil, even though you are still afraid to walk.  You love your sister, snacks and sippy cups filled with water, and being chased as you giggle and crawl as fast as you can.  You love playing in water and taking a bath.  And, you can’t sleep anywhere without your soft fuzzy blanket.  You snuggle when you’re tired or sick and you’ve become quite the daddy’s girl lately. You have six teeth and say three words (“Mama”, “Dada”, and “Ni-Ni”). You shake your head no, clap, wave and dance.

You’re all-around amazing, baby girl!  And, there are SO many people that love you SO much! We wish we could stop you from growing so fast.  But, since we can’t, we plan on enjoying every minute with you!

Happy 1st Birthday, Molly!

Her arms were getting tired, so she just put the cake down and stuck her face in.

She cried like I was stealing her presents when I finally took the cake away. And, yes, she kept it all down!

Easter

The girls had a fun Easter.  We had brunch with the Browns and Lockes and had an Easter egg hunt at home and at the Browns house.  Plenty of candy was consumed and the girls and I spent the day watching movies and playing outside while daddy went golfing.  The Easter Bunny was very good to the girls this year! Molly really enjoyed her first Easter basket!

Spring

It’s springtime! I love this time of year in the Midwest.  It’s when we take off all of our layers of winter clothes and start wearing shorts and t-shirts (even though it’s usually still 60 degrees outside).  Here in Arizona, the springtime weather is great and it is the time of year that we get as much outside activity as we possibly can before the temperature gets to heat stroke levels.  We will enjoy this beautiful weather while it lasts!
