Sick baby

On Tuesday,  daycare called to let us know that Molly was throwing up. Dennis picked her up, took her home and bathed her. Then, after several more vomiting episodes and seeing how lethargic Molly was,  Dennis took her to the Emergency Department at Chandler Regional. She got poked for labs, cathed for urine culture, and an IV was started to give her fluid and Zofran (miracle drug for vomiting).  She also got a chest xray after the nurse noticed her oxygen sats were on the lower side. The xray showed possible early onset bacterial pneumonia.  So,  after more IV fluids and another spot check of her oxygen sats (which were better),  they sent us home with antibiotics and more zofran.  She is still under the weather.  But, has been getting rest and fluids to get her back to her normal happy self. There's really nothing that scares me more than a sick child.

11 months

We adore this girl and all the trouble she likes to get into!  I think this first 11 months have only just scraped the surface of the amount of fun we are going to have with her.  She looks a lot like her daddy, and I’m pretty sure she has a bit of his sense of humor as well. She is cruising and climbing and pushing her shopping cart everywhere. She is just still too chicken to try for those first step.  But, I’m sure it will be any day now!

I think this first picture is gorgeous…..snot and all! But, I had to post it with the rest of the pictures I took of this little trouble maker!

And so it begins….

The babies in my circle of friends are starting to turn one.  A few days ago it was Ellison’s turn! Jaclyn put together an amazing party to celebrate her first year.  Happy birthday, E!

40 weeks

It takes 40 weeks for a human fetus to grow and form and become mature  enough to live outside of  it’s mother.  It takes less than a second after the birth to fall madly and deeply in love with that new little human. And, according to my BabyCenter e-mail updates, we’ve enjoyed and gotten to know Molly for 40 weeks now.

She has brought so much joy to our world. We could never imagine our lives without her.

In 40 weeks, she has learned so much.  She is cruising along the furniture now and is trying to become brave enough to let go and stand on her own.  She waves at us and the overhead fan (not sure what she sees in the fan that gets her so excited).  She is eating big girl food now.  There is really nothing that she won’t try.  She makes smacking noises with her mouth (which I like to think are kisses). And, she is a great sleeper.  She takes two naps and sleeps 12 hours at night.  She is obsessed with her sister and laughs at everything Lauren does.  She is starting to clap and says “Mama” and “Dada”.

We look forward to seeing where the next 40 weeks will take us!
