All sorts of shenanigans…

So, December has flown by and now it’s 2013!!  Where did the year go?? We’ve had a lot going on this past month.  Things are definitely more busy as a family of 5!  But, we love it.  I’m still on maternity leave and have had some quality time with my little man while Lauren is at school and Molly is at daycare.  It’s been so great getting to know him.  He melts my heart!

Lauren has been on Christmas break since Dec 22 and Molly will be out of daycare now until I go back to work.  We will be doing some MAJOR potty training in the next few weeks, so stay tuned.

As for the holidays, they were great! My parents and brother came to Arizona for a week and a half.  It was wonderful having them here for Christmas, and I love that having them here has become the yearly tradition. I’m sure my dad just can’t wait until he can come back to find out what else he gets to work on while he’s here (hey….I fed him and gave him a few sips of water while he painted and dry-walled…..it’s almost like getting paid).  They put in new bathroom lights, painted Aaron’s room and put in new white base boards.

All-in-all, the holidays this year were great.  We could NOT ask for more!  Our little family is absolutely complete with our two amazing little girls and our wonderful baby boy.

The girls wanted to watch cartoons.  We decided that playing in the snow would be more fun.  So, we drove to Flagstaff in the rain, fog, and snow storm for an overnight trip of fun!

This was Christmas Eve.  The girls got some pajamas from their Elf on the Shelf, Dolly.  And, they were saying good-bye to her before she had to fly back to the North Pole with Santa.

Through all of the Malone shenanigans, our little boy became a month old.  He weighs 7 lbs. 11.6 ounces and is 20 1/2 inches long.  He loves to look at the fans and lights in the house. Time flies.

Oh BOY!

On November 27, 2012 at 10:07 a.m., we welcomed our baby boy into this world.  We named him Aaron Phillip Malone.  He’s named after Dennis’ cousin, Aaron, who passed away in 2010 and after both of our dads, who are named Phillip. We didn’t find out what we were having this time, so having a boy was a big surprise.  At our 18 week ultrasound, we asked the tech to put the sex in an envelope for us, just in case we decided, along the way, to find out.  But, since we both wanted a baby boy (we would have been happy with a girl too, of course), we decided to wait until delivery day to find out. Even during the c-section we assumed it was a girl.  But, when they pulled him out, they held him up for Dennis to announce the big reveal.  When I heard “It’s a boy”, I could hardly contain my happiness.  We have the perfect little family.  We couldn’t ask for anything more! And now, as Dennis said, we look forward to writing the next chapter as a happy family of five.

We had an amazing group of doctors and nurses with us, including, Dr. Dennis Tong, who did an amazing job on my anesthesia and Dr. Tala Nasr, who came to take care of baby Aaron (and for my own moral support).  Thank you all!!

We had just told my dad that his middle name was Phillip. That made for one proud PopPop!

It felt like it took an eternity for them to finish with me in the O.R. All I wanted to do was hold my baby boy.  So, beyond the pale, exhausted, drug-induced, nauseous look, I am the happiest Mommy in the world.

Halloween

I took a few pictures of the girls posing in their Halloween costumes.  Lauren decided to be a vampire this year.  And, Molly was my little mermaid, Ariel.  Lauren really wanted to get into character too with the teeth and makeup.  She was a pretty convincing vampire.
