Sisters

The girls were relaxing together tonight and being so sweet. I can't wait to see them grow up together and be as close as my brother and I were growing up. I love that they already love each other so much.

Trick-or-Treat!

I LOVE this time of year!

Halloween weekend was so much fun this year! Since Halloween fell on a Monday, we got to enjoy the festivities all weekend long.

We started on Friday night by carving the pumpkins we picked up at the pumpkin patch.  Here in AZ, you pretty much have to carve them the day or two before Halloween…..or you’ll find yourself trying to throw away a mushy, sunken-faced, rotten pumpkin well before the big day!

We tried to get the girls to help us with the guts, since they are a little too young to do any carving.  But, they weren’t having any part of it.  Molly tried a couple of handfuls.  But, as soon as she noticed that Lauren didn’t like it, she gave up the gut-digging!

I roasted the pumpkin seeds this year for the first time.  And, I gotta tell you……for as easy as it was to do (minus the digging them out of the pumpkin part), they turned out pretty good! I think I’ve found a new Halloween tradition.

Saturday, I spent much of the day cooking and baking. I LOVE baking….especially this time of year!!  So, if anyone would like to get me a Kitchen-Aid Mixer for Christmas, I wouldn’t be sad about it! I baked some sugar cookies and made mummy cake pops (yeah…..I know, Dennis….they don’t look like mummies….but, whatever…..I tried). We had the Brown’s, Locke’s and Shane over for a cook-out on a beautiful Fall night.  We even started up the fire pit. The kids had a great time…..mostly playing in the rocks outside.

I’m not really sure what we did Sunday.  I think there was laundry and eating fast food involved.

Monday was Halloween and it was a slow day at the Surgery Center for me so I got to take the day off.  We started the day off with Molly’s 18 month appointment.  She’s healthy and happy and 23 pounds.  I can’t believe 18 months have even passed by.

Halloween night we went to the Locke house for the traditional and amazing chili and cornbread dinner and trick-or-treating. The girls had a great time.  Lauren dressed up as Spiderman and Molly was the elephant.

Molly was such a trooper.  She got out of the wagon about every other house to go up and trick-or-treat.  She didn’t actually say “trick-or-treat”.  She just stared the people down with her giant blue eyes and used her Jedi mind tricks to will them into giving her candy.  It definitely worked….she got quite the stash of candy.

The girls fell into a sugar-induced coma on the way home.  It was a spooktacular weekend!

The girls looked a little shaggy….they had their Fall Festival at school that day.  Lots of trick-or-treating, eating, and playing games.

Audrey’s birthday party was this past weekend.  There was a dunk tank that we couldn’t get these girls out of.
