Sandy Eggo

We had a week long vacation last week in a beach house on Mission Bay with the Locke ladies and the Brown’s.  There were 12 of us crammed into 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.  But, it worked out great!  Sometimes, situations like that make your best friends even bester friends (just made that word up…feel free to use it.). And, the house faced Sea World.  So, we got a fireworks show every night at 9:50 p.m.

Any who, we spent much of Sunday and Monday on the beach. But, of course, I forgot to bring my camera every time we went (mostly because we all had our hands full with what we were already hauling to the beach along with the 7 kids).  But, you get the picture…..sand, water, sun, kids.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday were a little chillier and gloomier days, plus I’m convinced a virus had run it’s course through a lot of us in the house…….I know, bad timing.  So, Tuesday we explored the USS Midway naval ship, did a boat tour of San Diego Bay, and ended our night at the Crab Hut for a seafood smorgasbord complete with whole shrimp with eyes still intact.  I’m not a big seafood eater anyway.  So, when my seafood is looking at me…..FORGET IT!  However, those who know how much I hate seafood would be happy to know that I tried Jaclyn’s crab…….and…..wait for it……actually kind of liked it.  I KNOW…..I’m coming around.

Wednesday, we went to Belmont park and let the kids ride on some rides for a little while.  Thursday was Sea World day!  We got there at 10 a.m. and didn’t leave until after 8 p.m.   It was such a long, fun, and exhausting day with no naps.  So, when Molly was asked what her favorite part of Sea World was, she responded with “the giraffes” and then promptly fell asleep (p.s…..there are no giraffes at Sea World).

Friday was another beach day.  We saw schools of dolphins swimming very close to the shore.  Then found jellyfish pieces washing up on the beaches.  We thought the dolphins might be eating the jellyfish.  But, Sara and I looked it up and found out that the dolphins actually like to play with the dolphins.  They just play a little rough.  :)

All-in-all, it was a great week of relaxing, fun in the sun, and wonderful memory making!!

Lucky number 7

Aaron turned 7 months old on Thursday, June 27th.  He is so much fun!  He has really found his voice lately and has started growling at us.  He also likes to “hug”.  He grabs the back of our neck (or hair) and squeezes.  Then he gives us a nice little head butt to show us how much he loves us!

He’s eating more solid foods now.  He likes rice cereal and tolerates avocado.  Tonight we will try carrots if he’s feeling better (he’s had a fever for 2 days).

He is rolling all over the place and can sit with slight assistance.  And, he slept a good 6 hours last Monday……which means I slept 6 hours last Monday!! He loves the pool and his teething toys!  And, he will smile at anyone who walks by!

We love you little man!  We couldn’t imagine life without you!

Six months

I just realized last night that I took Aaron’s 6 month picture a month ago and didn’t even post it.  I really thought I did.  But, I guess I’m just going a little crazy these days!

Our little man was 15 lbs. 0.3 ounces and 24 1/4 inches long at his 6 month check-up.  He’s not quite sitting unassisted yet.  But, he loves to be in his pink bumbo or up at the table in his high-chair while we eat.  We started him on rice cereal and he loves it!  He also loves being in the pool and playing with his big sisters.  His favorite toys are his Sophie the Giraffe, his teething ring, and his sisters hair (pretty much anything he can get into his mouth.  He’s a happy boy and we are so lucky he’s ours!

Chompers

Guess who got a new tooth?  There’s really a 2/3 or 66% chance to guess the right answer for this question since both our youngest and oldest are awaiting teeth.

I really tried to get him to open up.  But, he wasn’t having any part of it.

This picture is a little fuzzy.  But, there’s a visible little bud of tooth showing.

Our big boy!
