Happy Fourth of July everyone!! We had a very busy, but really fun weekend! We weren't able to make it back to Iowa for the Thompson family reunion. So, we ended up kicking it here in the heat with our Arizona families! We went to Gina's house on Saturday to swim, eat and drink. We had a great time with friends we hadn't seen in awhile, Sarah and Andy. These two were our very first friends here when we moved to Arizona 5 1/2 years ago. Sarah and I have been together through a lot. And, I love her like crazy!
Lauren swam and swam and swam....and swam. She was exhausted when we were driving home. She kept telling us that she wasn't tired while we were driving away. About 1 minute later, she was OUT!! Molly got to swim for a little bit. But, she really wasn't digging it this time around. So, Gina's mom came over and snuggled with Molly for hours while we hung out and swam. Thanks Puru!!
On Sunday we went to Jaclyn and Josh's house for a BBQ and to tentatively watch fireworks. With 7 kiddos (all girls, by the way) we really had to play that by ear. And, we ended up going home instead because of a tired 3-year-old. But, we had a great time hanging out with our friends and eating some amazing burgers and fries. And, Preston brought some little confetti fireworks for the kids to enjoy.
Dennis was off work on Monday. So, he went golfing with his work buddies while the girls and I relaxed at home. The relaxation day was needed. Lauren and I watched Madagascar and played with Molly and colored some pictures in Lauren's coloring book.
And, we thought noodles were just used as floatation devices. Apparently, another use is for giant daddy antennae!
